Located in the heart of South East Queensland’s Scenic Rim Boonah Shire is one of the most picturesque areas in Queensland.

From the superb scenery of its rugged mountains and peaceful lakes to the charm of its country towns, Boonah offers sightseeing to suit all tastes, with easy access to local wineries and National Parks.

Boonah has a 9 hole golf course, tennis courts, bowling club, rock climbing, swimming pool.

The local flying club gives you the opportunity to try gliding, experience an ultra light or take a scenic flight in a tiger moth.

Boonah town offers a whole range of shops and services along with that special brand of country hospitality that comes from taking time to enjoy life. Explore the antique shops, visit the art gallery or take in the charm of the historic country pubs.

Lovers of the great outdoors can explore the myriad of bush walking tracks through no less than 7 National Parks. Mt. French is internationally known for world class rock climbing, but for the less adventurous there is a pleasant drive to the top and then a short walk to enjoy the spectacular view over the Fassifern Valley.

Perhaps a drink or lunch at the historic hotels dotted around the shire.

Lake Maroon, a 15 minute drive from Boonah is well known for fishing, sailing, boating and water skiing. It is a relaxing spot for a lunch time barbecue, with excellent picnic facilities. Lake Moogerah is popular for water sports, fishing and scenic bush walks. Spend a relaxing afternoon by the lake perhaps having a picnic or visiting the lakeside cafe.
